Molka by Monika Kim has a little bit of everything for horror fans; creepy voyeurs, a vengeful ghost, and woman out for revenge. It’s a dual pov story written in third person and it was written so well. Normally when I read a dual pov story, it’s first person and each chapter is titled with a character’s name. So, with this style I was worried I’d get lost, but the story was easy to follow and Monika keeps the suspense going that I couldn’t put it down.
Our main characters are Dahye and Junyoung. Dahye is a woman in love with the heir to a Korean media empire, but when they’re caught on a hidden camera, her life begins to spiral. Dahye catches the attention of the nerdy IT guy at work, Junyoung, but she doesn’t realize he harbors a dark secret. He’s been hiding hidden cameras in the ladies bathroom.
You’d think you know where this story is going to go, but you have no clue. Kim keeps you guessing until the very end. These paths of these to characters collide in climax that had me on the edge of my seat. As a fan of The Eyes are the Best Part, I knew I’d like this book, but I didn’t realize just how much I would love it.
