“If you’re here, you’re clearly lost. What you do next will determine if you stay that way.”

It’s hard to truly get lost in 2025, but Arden trusted his GPS in the deep, rural woods of Georgia, where satellite signals don’t reach. Now he, his wife Laurie, and their two children, traveling back home after a fun weekend away, have run out of gas next to a house displaying a very unwelcoming sign.

The porch light turns on. A large man with a shotgun emerges. As he walks slowly toward their car, the family has no idea how bad their night is about to become…

From the Bram Stoker and Splatterpunk award-winning author of Pressure, My Pretties, and Bring Her Back comes Jeff Strand’s most brutal and unrelenting nightmare so far.

The last place you wanna break down at night is the backwoods of Georgia. You remember Deliverance right?

Your Body Will Never be Found by Jeff Strand is the story of Arden, his wife Laurie, and their two children, traveling back home after a fun weekend away, have run out of gas next to a house displaying a very unwelcoming sign. Think, the Devils Rejects but on a smaller scale.

Once the story gets going, which isn’t long, it doesn’t stop. Strand incorporates a few flashback scenes that give us back story for the family but their tormentors as well. There are small jumps in time to explain prior actions from a different perspective provide exposition without breaking the stories pacing. Speaking of pacing, it reads like a movie in that we see a lot of action with little internal dialogue which works perfectly for a story like this. It’s intense, brutal, and I couldn’t put it down. Well, in this case, take my ear buds out.

I listened to the audio book version read by Scott Thomas and produced by Podium Audio. Scott’s ability to give each character their own voice was phenomenal. The voices he did for Finch and the other three villains were killer; pun intended. Once I pressed play on my Hoopla app, I listened straight through to the end.

Jeff has crafted a redneck splatterpunk story so well, that it reminded me of something Bryan Smith would write. If that kind of book is your jam, Your Body Will Never Be Found is right up your alley.
